Complex Delivery for a Next-Generation Urban Mobility Hub

The transformative Transbay Transit Center is a $1.4B, multi-phase infrastructure initiative designed to become the “Grand Central Station of the West.” Turner supported the delivery of over $800M in work across multiple packages - most notably, the $200M excavation and $190M structural steel scopes - executed within a dense urban core while maintaining uninterrupted regional transit operations. The 1.3 million square foot facility replaced a 1939 terminal and now accommodates more than 45 million passengers annually across five stories. It serves as a multimodal hub for Caltrain, regional buses, and the future northern terminus of California High-Speed Rail, with dedicated bus ramps linking directly to the Bay Bridge and a new off-site bus storage facility. Beyond its transportation functions, the project created an integrated civic space, anchoring a new neighborhood with housing, parks, and mixed-use development. This project exemplifies Turner’s capacity to deliver large-scale, future-ready transit infrastructure within complex operational and urban environments - expertise directly aligned with ATP’s vision for delivering the Austin Light Rail OMF under a progressive, collaborative model
